Secure your Free NFT Mint from Major Digital Artist
Great opportunity for anyone with an Ethereum compatible digital wallet with around $5 of Eth for gas fees. LIVE// is a free to mint digital artwork released by renowned artist FVCKRENDER
Imagine you heard of a well-known artist giving away numbered print editions of their art, each with a unique number authenticated genuine. All you had to pay was shipping, would you accept? Even if it was a “limited” run of 1 million, and each might not ever be worth much given the volume, it would be wonderful to own nevertheless.
The Web3 version of this exact opportunity is what I have to share today.
The Artist
Frederic Duquette aka FVCKRENDER is one of the most well known artists in the NFT space making waves by selling a piece of art for 25 ETH (around $50k NZD). He’s been featured on prominent NFT marketplaces Nifty Gateway and SuperRare. A self-taught 3d artist based in Vancouver, he focuses on “sharp architectural geometry, beaming future landscapes and brilliant crystalline arrangements.”
In the spirit of the holidays, he announced over twitter yesterday a free NFT mint to thank the community for the last 8 years of support. To claim the free mint, you will need a suitable digital wallet and around $3 of Ether (for both of these see my previous tutorial Beginners guide to buying your first crypto in New Zealand).
Step 1 - Chose your timing wisely
In these situations where you have flexibility on when to mint, why not do it when the gas price is the lowest? I use https://ethereumprice.org/gas/ to see what times of the week are the cheapest.
Step 2 - Navigate to the correct mint site (caution)
You will need to go to the mint website - always get this direct from the artist or official project website (here is his tweet). Following a link that I or some other person gives you is bad practice and will get you scammed sooner or later, this is a common scam. If we were spending big $ we could even check the minting smart contract to be sure.
Step 3 - Connect wallet & mint NFT
Select Connect Wallet and follow the instructions. Then claim the NFT (only one per wallet allowed) and approved the transaction. Congratulations!
All of this way over your head?
Don’t worry, there will be other opportunities. Start by watching the video below to learn the NFT basics. If you want to start dabbling with just $50ish NZD, then check out my tutorial Beginners guide to buying your first crypto in New Zealand)
